PROJECT GOAL
To strengthen Kazakh CSOs as independent actors of good governance and development, with the focus on waste management and climate change.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
  • CSOs empowered to engage in policy dialogue, implementation and monitoring of national programs and local plans
  • Local authorities (LAs) supported in the implementation and monitoring of national programs and local plans
  • Gender equality and youth inclusion promoted
Target groups:
  • local CSOs
  • initiative groups of eco-activists
  • women's and youth organizations
Stakeholders:
  • decision-makers at the national and local levels
  • experts in the collection and disposal of solid waste
  • rural educational and cultural institutions
  • mass media
Final beneficiaries:
  • rural population of Akmola, Almaty and Zhetusy oblasts
  • all rural residents of Kazakhstan

70 CSOs (or other forms of organization) benefitting from EU support

7 national and local government policies developed or revised with CSOs participation
2 national and local government policies developed or revised with the inclusion of gender equality and youth inclusion aspects with CSOs participation.
Level of LAs involvement in cooperation with CSOs in pilot regions increased from low to medium levels
